"Move with the Mayor" is a national initiative that works with mayors across the country to challenge their communities to be more phyiscally active and lower their risk for heart attacks.
This September, the Village of Glendale Heights has partnered with West Chicago, Glen Ellyn and other communities from around the United States, in conjunction with the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention to participate in Move with the Mayor - a campaign challenging communities to be more physically active. From now until September 29 you will have access to informative material and virtual/online events to help you increase your physical activity so please join me as we kick-off the Glendale Heights Move with the Mayor Campaign.
Additionally, a few of the mayor's from DuPage County have gotten together to have a little friendly stepping competition. The Village of Glendale Heights is an active community so join my team and let's show West Chicago, Glen Ellyn, Bartlett and Hanover Park who can get more steps! To join the Glendale Heights team, please download the "Heka Walk" app, track your steps and compete with other participating towns to win bragging rights in DuPage County. Our site will stay active through at least December 31st so let's end the year on a healthy path.
